Welcome to EuroPG

The EuroPG distribution list was originally set up by Nick Dolan to give European pilots, a European based e-mail list. It has now found its way into the systems empire of Nico Preston and become a world-wide free-flight distribution list.

Hopefully interesting articles from the hang-gliding lists and the nwjazzie (NW Seattle list), relating to European and world wide flying, will be cross posted occasionaly, to ensure subscribers do not 'miss out' whilst being subscribed to a more 'local' list.

Commercial or commercially related posts should be only to inform subscribers of a http address to look at information or a request for interested parties to e-mail direct for further information.

Blatant commercial advertising will not be tolerated.

This Lists is running on a UCL SUN machine in London and has been set up as a personal project. It does not reflect the views or opinions of UCL or its employees.

If you would like to SUBSCRIBE the EuroPG mailing list then send an email to:

listproc@psychol.ucl.ac.uk

with no subject but a message body of only:

subscribe europg <your name>

replacing with your real name (not your email address).

ie. subscribe europg Francis Rogallo

Once subscribed you can submit mailings to the list by addressing them to:

europg@psychol.ucl.ac.uk

At this stage you will only be able to submit mailings from your registered address.

If you do want to send messages from more than one address whilst still only receiving at one subscribed address, then you will have to let me know so I can alias the other address(es). Mail me at nico@psychol.ucl.ac.uk.

MAILER SETTINGS and NETIQUETTE

Please set your email client (mail program) to send messages in plain-text only as many subscribers receive the digest version and tags cause unwanted clutter.

You can do this in Outlook Express/Netscape4 by adding the europg@psychol.ucl.ac.uk to your address book and choosing the option "send mail in plain-text only" or un-ticking "send rich-text (HTML) messages".

It is also better not to send attachments (photos &c) to the list. Instead store them on a web-page and use the list to mention the URL (www address).

Finally, please delete the text of the message to which you are replying (except perhaps a specific line or two upon which you are commenting) before posting your email; subscribers will have read it already, or can find it in the archive.

The delivery mode can be changed using the SET command.

Various statistics can be found using the RECIPIENTS and STATISTICS commands.

The archive of past digests can be searched and retrieved using the INDEX, SEARCH and GET commands.
